SEMT ("SEMT," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the SEMT Android application (the "App"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account, which we use to identify you and sync your data. If you use Guest Mode instead, we don't require any personal information — your data is tied to a device-generated identifier rather than your identity.
Financial data you provide
To provide the App's core functionality, we store the information you enter, including:
- Accounts you create (e.g., bank or cash accounts) and their balances
- Categories you use to organize spending, predefined or custom
- Transactions, transfers between accounts, and their notes and dates
- People you add for To Get / To Pay tracking, and the related To Get, To Pay, Received, and Paid entries
We do not connect to your bank or any financial institution — all financial data is entered manually by you.
Automatically collected information
We (and the third parties described below) may automatically collect basic device information, such as device model, operating system version, and device/advertising identifiers, along with usage data related to how ads are shown and interacted with in the App.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and sync your accounts, categories, transactions, and records across your devices
- To authenticate you when you sign in with Google or use Guest Mode
- To generate the dashboard and reports you request within the App
- To show ads within the App and measure their performance
- To maintain the security and reliability of the App
How your data is stored
Your data is stored using Firebase, a service provided by Google. When you sign in with a Google account, your data is synced across every device where you sign in with that same account. Guest Mode data is stored using the same infrastructure but is not linked to your identity.
We do not sell your personal or financial data to anyone.
Advertising
The App displays ads served by third-party advertising networks, such as Google AdMob. These networks may collect and use identifiers such as your device's advertising ID to show ads and measure their effectiveness. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy and opt out of personalized advertising through your device's ad settings (e.g., Settings → Google → Ads on Android).
Third-party service providers
We rely on the following third-party services to operate the App. These providers may process data on our behalf, subject to their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase — authentication and data storage/sync
- Google AdMob (or similar ad networks) — displaying ads
Data retention & deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual accounts, categories, transactions, or entries at any time within the App. To request deletion of your entire account and all associated data, contact us at adilfarooq.it@gmail.com.
Children's privacy
SEMT is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Data security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- You can sign out of your Google account within the App at any time.
- You can revoke SEMT's access to your Google account through your Google Account permissions page.
- You can request deletion of your data by contacting us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
